Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Mega events, characterized by their large scale and significant economic, social, and cultural impacts, have become crucial in fostering community engagement and development. Stakeholder collaboration, which involves the active participation of governments, private organizations, local communities, and other relevant parties, is vital for the successful planning and execution of such events. In Makurdi LGA, a hub of cultural and economic activities, mega events such as festivals, trade fairs, and sports competitions play a critical role in boosting tourism and local development. However, the complexity of organizing these events often necessitates the collaboration of multiple stakeholders to ensure adequate resources, logistical efficiency, and widespread community support.
